Dormitory for Street Kids will Be Built in Jakarta

Jakarta Provincial Government is about to build a dormitory for street kids. Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama explained, this year, the dormitory would a capacity of 2,000 people.

"This year, a dormitory for street kids will be built in Pondok Karya Pembangunan foundation. This is secular school but like boarding school," stated Basuki, at City Hall, Monday (3/28).

He disclosed, children should still get an education. The problem is, children who become exploitation victim are not getting an education by their parents. While the parents remain unwilling to find a job and housed in social institution.

"That's why the dormitory will be built this year," he finished.
